(Xinhua/Ma Zhancheng) Li said during the meeting that in recent years, bilateral relations between China and Kenya have seen positive, sound and steady development with frequent high-level visits, strong political mutual trust, blooming people-to-people exchanges and remarkable progress in trade and economic cooperation. With regard to parliamentary exchanges, the senior CPC official said that inter-party contacts and inter-parliament exchanges between the two countries have witnessed fruitful development. He stressed that Kenyan parliament has maintained healthy and productive exchanges with China's National People's Congress and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, which plays an active role in enhancing understanding of the two peoples and pushing forward development of China-Kenya relations. "We truly look forward to further consolidating and developing the existing positive exchanges between the legislative bodies of China and Kenya with the aim of providing momentum for bettering bilateral relations," Li said. He said that Kenyan parliament is a key participant for promoting China-Kenya traditional friendship, adding that China is prepared to coordinate efforts with Kenya and other African partner countries in a bid to efficiently implement follow-up actions of the 4th Ministerial Conference of the Forum on China- Africa Cooperation and give impetus to the development of China- Africa new strategic partnership. |
